Meet the New Agencies in Learning and Skills!
The Third Sector National Learning Alliance is holding two key events where we can meet and hear from senior staff at the Young People's Learning Agency, REACT at the Local Government Agency and the Skills Funding Agency.
NIACE has been commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to produce practical guidance materials to support a diverse range of organisations to open their spaces for informal adult learning. This initiative is part of the implementation of the Learning Revolution white paper.
The National Apprenticeship Service will provide up to 5,000 Apprenticeship Grants for Employers of 16 and 17 year olds (AGE 16 and 17) with a value of £2,500 to encourage employers to take on unemployed 16-17 year olds as apprentices.
Fair Train is the Group Training Association for third sector apprenticeships that has been set up to help to address these barriers. It will help charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations secure government funding to train apprentices.
Skills - Third Sector, the learning and skills council for charities, social enterprises and other not for profit organisations, is writing a framework for apprenticeships to meet the needs of third sector organisations.
IFF research, on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council, uses five years of LSC data to show the value and achievements of third sector providers of learning and skills, and clearly evidences the case that the third sector is contributing and adding value to learners in both their learner achievements and their ability to get employment.
